Stimulus money: IRS says payments will begin next week
By: Katie Lobosco
The Internal Revenue Service said Friday that some stimulus payments will start going out next week, starting with people who have filed tax returns for 2018 or 2019 and authorized direct deposit.
The first round of direct-deposit payments will be made automatically to qualifying taxpayers.
Social Security beneficiaries will also receive their payments automatically. Those payments will go out "in the near future," the IRS said Friday.
Stimulus check: How much can you expect?
The timeline keeps the first payments on the schedule promised by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who said April 2 that the payments would begin going out within two weeks. He had earlier pushed for distributions, part of the $2.2 trillion economic relief package passed by Congress in March, to start as early as April 6.

Others -- including people who haven't filed returns, authorized direct deposits, or receive Social Security -- will likely have to wait weeks and even months before seeing their money. Some will have to first file a return or register online in order to receive the payment.
Also on Friday, the IRS launched a new tool to help low-income people who aren't normally required to file returns to input some basic information so that they can receive the stimulus money. They'll have to provide their Social Security number, name, address, and the number of their dependents -- as well as bank account information if they want to receive a direct deposit.
Next week, the IRS is planning to roll out a web portal that will give people whose bank account information is not on file with the agency the ability to submit it in order to get their stimulus payments faster, without waiting for paper checks. It will also help people check on the status of their payments.
This seems to be good news/
OK...this is my first discussion created to test.The testing of this discussion seed is as follows;
Fetch Seed function:
The fetching of the Seed on this site went well. The primary text crossed over well. I had to delete some of the non-pertinent text at the bottom of the text once it was brought into the discussion form.
Fetch Image function:
The fetching of the image did not work. I tried several times to get this function to work, but, each time I got the same error;
No matter how I tried to copy the url for the image it would not work. It would not create the discussion at all and just displayed the error.
I finally removed the url where I copy and pasted it from the site into the Fetch Image url area and then created the discussion without the image. The discussion was created fine.
I then did a copy and save of the image from the seed site and saved it to my hard drive, then did the Select of the in the Update form and added the saved image. Then the discussion worked with the image that way.
Also.....When the Fetch Seed brought in the seed text it applied the large parenthesis for the quote at the top, and they also showed the same quote in parenthesis at the top of the content space. I am not sure that both are needed to be displayed. So to check the way things worked in that regard, I deleted the quoted part of the text and just started with the rest of the text. However, the parenthesis showed up in the content space anyway. So...perhaps the extra parenthesis should be removed and have them only show up for the quoted text.
Now, as to the issue with the Fetch Image function, I am not sure if I was copying the url for image correctly or not. I clicked on image to have it enlarged and show up without any text or anything else and then copied the url. But, that did not seem to work, so I tried doing the url with the text and that didn't work either. So perhaps the problem is with how I am trying to copy the image url. Perhaps you can explain the steps on how to get the correct url so that the Fetch Image function will work properly.
I'll go now and test with another discussion.
In addition, if there is no acceptable url in the Fetch Image function area it will not allow the seed to be posted on the FP.
I think that using the Fetch Image function should be an option, not mandatory to be posted on the FP. What is there is no image associated with the Seed? How will I be able to promote the seed to the FP?
I could use another image, but, the original image must be used according to the CoC or ToS. Or does not on apply to Articles?
That mandatory image rule is an existing rule on NT. Fetch is not imposing a new rule. I have rules established that deal with the strange non-image files with a .img extension. Fetch Seed is using those rules. Possibly Fetch Image is not. If so, easy fix.
Ahh...OK...understood.
The URL you provided above is not an image. An image URL must be the location of a JPG, PNG, etc. image.
I just went to the URL you provided and clicked on the image to get its location. The location of the image itself is:
The problem with this image, however, is that it is not real. The extension of .img is not a real image. It needs to be .jpg or .png.
I took your original URL and clicked the Fetch Seed button to supply it. Usually you only need to Fetch Seed. It is very rare that you would need to Fetch Image after doing a Fetch Seed since Fetch Seed acquires the designated image associated with the article (if one is associate, that is).
OK...so under normal situations the Fetch Seed button is the only one needed to be used to fetch the seed AND the image. Good, lessens the confusion.
Automatically converting the image extension (explained elsewhere) is a great feature as well.
Thus the only additional steps that a Member would need to take would be if there is no image used in the original seed and one would have to be chosen elsewhere to add.
I think I'm getting the picture now. Time to play! (grin)
